Call for Speakers

The European Network of Outdoor Sports is delighted to announce that abstract submissions are now open for the 5th Outdoor Sports Euro’Meet 2019 which will take place in Viana do Castelo on 24th – 26th September 2019. 

We are seeking speakers who are highly articulate, enthusiastic, motivational, engaging and can present on projects that are both innovative and inspirational. Projects may come from academic research or highlight practical programmes and good examples from the field. 


Open Call for Projects: 15th March 2019
Deadline Abstract Submission: 30th April 2019  Extended to 17th May 2019
Notification of successful presenters: 15th May 2019
Final programme available online: 22th May 2019


The project submission process for the Euro’Meet will be as follows:

  • Projects must be submitted using the web form.
  • Projects must be submitted in english.
  • Have a clear title that is no longer than 10 words.
  • Projects must be a maximum of 500 words. 
  • Projects must conform to the template and have the following sections:
    • Introduction and context;
    • Description of project;
    • Results and outcomes;
    • Conclusion.
  • Projects must include the name, organisation, and job title of author(s).
  • Projects must clearly show how they relate to one of the 4 themes:
    • #BeActive, Be Healthy, Be Outdoors;
    • Blue Growth;
    • Urban outdoor;
    • Inclusive Outdoor;
    • Other (only for "Poster").
  • Projects can be for a “Conference” or a “Poster”.

Conference
Theme presentations will be 15 minutes long with an opportunity at the end of the session for questions and discussions. Presentations can be given in English, French or Portuguese. PowerPoint or other visual presentation must be in English.

Poster
Presenters will be asked to produce a poster (minimum size A0) or flyers (minimum size A4 / trifold) for display at the conference, which must be in english and will be given a 5 minutes time slot to present their project, which must be in english.

Note: Projects must be no more than 5 years old and they are not necessarily related to the 4 themes of the conference (and other themes can be discussed: outdoor sport and environment, digitalization, qualification of sport instructors...)


The selection of successful presenters will be undertaken by the Euro’Meet Steering Group composed of representatives from the ENOS Board and the local steering committee as follows:

  • Mike McClure (Sport Northern Ireland & ENOS Secretary)
  • Barbara Eigenschenk (Technical University Munich & ENOS communications officer)
  • Eduard Inglés Yuba (INEFC, Catalonia & ENOS Board member)
  • João Zamith (Project Manager for Euro’Meet 2019 & ENOS Board member)
  • Vitor Lemos (Councillor of Sports and Vice Mayor of Viana do Castelo)
  • António Brandão (Sport and Leisure School, Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo)
  • Vitor Dias (Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth)


Projects will be selected according to the relevance to the theme, the quality of the outcomes and innovative aspects to the project using an agreed scoring system.

If you are not selected as a "Conference" presenter you may be selected to provide a “Poster” presentation.


Conference presenters will be provided with complimentary pass to the entire Euro’Meet 2019 event and accommodation for the duration of the event.*
* However, the presenters will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and any meals not included outside of the main conference.
